"To Catch A Thief" Earrings

These 3.8cm lengths of brass-based rhinestone chains were manufactured recently, but we didn't like how new they looked. We oxidized them, hoping they'd come out looking like they were really old.... and I think it worked! The dark finish spreads to the foil backs of the rhinestones, mellowing them out with a smoky dull patina. The glass facets still catch the light and sparkle, but in a wonderful faded-glamour kind of way. We were thinking about naming these earrings after the movie "To Catch A Thief", but maybe we should name them after "Sunset Boulevard" or "Grey Gardens" instead?

Posts are surgical steel and earring backs are 14K gold-plated brass. Earrings come attached to cardstock printed with an "Erica Weiner Jewelry" logo.
