Crystal Spike Earrings

I have to admit, these are probably my favorite earrings that I've ever designed. They took an irritatingly long time to develop and were on the back burner for about a year. Devising a silver bezel and post that could be adapted to any width of crystal, while accommodating irregular shapes? This was tough. But now they're done and I love the way they turned out.

These earrings were inspired by a big bag of teeny-tiny natural quartz crystals that I found at a NYC gem and mineral show. They were too small and irregular to be of value to gem collectors, so the dealer was trying to get rid of them all at once.

Each pair of earrings is different, and your crystals may have inclusions, milky coloring, rough ends, crystals-growing-on-crystals, broken-off tops, and/or double terminations. Crystal sizes range from 1.3 to 1.9cm long and 0.3cm wide on average. There's a good chance that your earrings will be slightly different lengths, sizes, and shapes. Flat wire bezel, posts, and backs are sterling silver.
